I’m Gianmario, a FIV Level II Coach and RYA Racing Coach based in Cagliari. I’ve been sailing for over 15 years and have coached athletes across dinghies, skiffs, multihulls and foiling classes.
I hold an MSc in Energy Engineering and a postgraduate Master’s in Space Systems Engineering. My experience includes Research about Power generation in Space at Waseda University in Tokyo and Swansea University, CubeSat development, and founding and managing the SuMoth Challenge Team of the University of Cagliari along with a brilliant Moth Sailor and friend of mine as Team Captain. In coaching, I combine this technical background with on-water feedback, video and data analysis to help sailors understand their technique and define clear priorities for training.
I want technical details to make sense: what you are doing, what effect it has and how to train it. The conversation on the water comes first; video and data help make it more concrete.

FIV instructor and RYA Dinghy Instructor with Racing Endorsement.
